TRACK OF THE WEEK

Marble” by All Hype

This week’s featured Band of the Week shows what can happen when you take a chance and bet on yourself. Sometimes the biggest leap isn’t stepping onto a stage, it’s deciding when to leave one behind. For All Hype, that leap began in Honolulu, Hawaii, where the band formed around 2018 with a shared vision, a little bit of courage, and the determination to see just how far their music could take them. What started on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean would soon become a journey stretching thousands of miles to the mainland.

Before coming together, the members had already spent years playing local projects. Once formed, they quickly found themselves opening for national touring acts passing through the islands. It was a close-knit scene where musicians from every corner of rock came together, but living on an island also meant opportunities eventually reached a horizon. Touring beyond Hawaii required crossing on ocean, making every next step a little harder to reach.

Rather than letting geography decide their future, the band made a collective decision to relocate more than 2,500 miles away to Portland, Oregon. The move wasn’t about leaving Hawaii behind. It was about creating new possibilities while carrying everything they had learned with them. With Portland as their new home, West Coast tours became a reality, new audiences discovered their music, and the road ahead suddenly stretched a lot farther than the shoreline where it all began.

Their blend of fast punk rhythms, melodic pop-punk hooks, and crushing breakdowns soon found its way onto stages throughout the West. Alongside extensive touring, All Hype earned one of the highlights of their career after winning the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition and securing a place on the legendary Vans Warped Tour. Having grown up in Hawaii dreaming about one day attending the festival, the band initially thought the email announcing they had won was a scam before realizing it was real. That moment transformed a longtime dream into one of the milestones of their journey.

Today, All Hype continues to pursue the never-ending dream through relentless touring, independent releases, and performances alongside major bands across the West Coast. Every mile traveled, every crowd reached, and every experience gained traces back to one decision made years ago, believing that a leap of faith was worth taking. Sometimes the longest journey begins with a single step, and for All Hype, it started on an island and became a giant leap into everything that came next, making them — a band worth featuring — and always worth watching.
